I love KH1 and KH2 but I can understand where some people may be coming from if they have a big preference for either one over the other.
KH1 is an RPG first and an action game second whereas KH2 is the reverse. KH1 is a lot slower and individual items, spells, skills etc feel more impactful, the world layout also contributes to this.
KH2 has simpler map design, you start out with far more skills, forms, reaction commands and you're just faster and more flashy in general. Rightfully so being the second game but it does end up differentiating it a lot from how KH1 feels to play, especially the early to mid game of KH1.
