>buy The Crew
>enjoy croozing with frens
>buy DLC
>enjoy police chases/drifting with frens
>ubisoft decides it's time up
>can't even enjoy The Crew by myself anymore
Compare this to a very similar game in nature, Test Drive Unlimited (2006), that was a multiplayer open world racer/cruiser game that, if internet was down, you could still play solo.
Both subsequent Crew games have also sucked and felt like downgrades, so the fact that there's a sequel doesn't make up for it either.
It might be a much shittier racer (that looks good), but Need For Speed (2015) is another one that comes to mind. Live service, online only, and when EA decides it's time up that's likely going to be it. A shame since, while the physics are trash (Unite mod exists), that game still has the most soulful aesthetic of modern NFS games.
