Let's be real, most people who did what I said don't post here to begin with. They'd be fucking ancient by this point. Sinnoh was nearly 20 years ago. If a 20 year old who grew up with Gen I+II and skipped Gen III to play Gen IV, they'd be fucking 40 by now and definitely not playing these shit ass games anymore, let alone posting on this fucking board. I'd argue 80% of the users here are still in their 20s, maybe even teenagers

People keep blaming the games but really it was the loss of Shudo that killed Pokemania because the anime was the main attraction up until Gen III where it became more obvious it was a commercial for the games. The games were good but the anime really was something else and the games never caught up to being "better than the anime" until Gen IV and especially Gen V given that's where the anime nosedived into a quality that it never recovered from
