There is a very good chance these particular people never experienced any of this as babies, or even as kids/teens. They grew up in a fucked up place, were raised in a fucked up environment, and they would probably do the same to their tormentors/killers if they were given the opportunity.

That seems plausible. The thing is that no one will believe it's Iran that's responsible for it. The Noticing™ has become mainstream and it would just trigger the Day of the Oven™.
