If we strike Iran the only way it ends is in a prolonged war which will lead to the Iranian government collapsing, another refugee crisis, and a failed state of 100 million people.

No, Trump is planning on joining the war because Israel is begging him to. And if Trump joins the war, it requires a response from Iran to strike US bases. Countries cannot be attacked, especially not on the scale that Trump and the Israelis are planning, and not attack back. If the US strikes Iran, Iran WILL strike US bases. That is guaranteed.
