Having their biometals "always on" makes the twins stand out from other ZX characters and visually communicates that there's something off about them. They probably can't even live normal lives in their current state which is where most of that resentment likely comes from. They're tools of war living in an era of peace and can't survive outside of the cage Albert built for them. Really fucked up for an E rated game when you think about it.
