I think the chapter ending the way it did, even with the chapter, in the Japanese source, having one of those lines from the author saying "To the roots", that there will likely be at least a talk about the dad next chapter. And maybe deciding she will visit him in the near future, whether on an specific date or something like "sometime during summer break".
