he did, although he didn't preach kindness only. That's the problem with ancient literature. It's vast, fragmented and contains many contradicting teachings. You can expect that from letters written decades apart by different authors.
We see this reflected here in this very thread. While you focus on the aspects of kindness of the synoptics (and I salute you for trying) another one can just as easily take all the verses that focus on condemnation and inflammatory hatred and run with it. Both interpretations are possible, each claiming to be the correct one.
My advice is throwing the whole thing where it belongs, in the garbage
