It's just so fucking gorgeous. Not only was the animation excellent, as you might come to expect from a show with this development timeline and budget, but it also has just fantastic styling. The movement is fluid, yet exaggerated and cartoony, and the genre shifts all looked like their appropriate genre, but still had a unique style to them. Even the slightly-overplayed "we're going to be doing a scene in an anime style!" bit was a unique looking anime style rather than doing the usual exaggeratedly big, glossy eyes and flowery aesthetic, because people don't realize Sailor Moon isn't the only anime to ever exist.
