from what I have seen, after being trapped in this hell since the very first thread before it was called degen, someone comes up with one particular style, and it gets lots of attention, after a day or two of constant attention from lurkers they namefag, then as a namefag they are known as "that guy with that style" and their following of lurkers usually no larger than 3-5 people obsess over every post they make, posting the same stuff over and over gets them attention and it fulfills a base social need. happens to nearly every namefag, ffs rainbow dude kept the same style for nearly 1 whole year, pic rel was the style, and now after he dropped it a huge number of anons here are using slight derivatives of it, but you can see where the inspiration came from in their own gens.
