I clicked the "drugs causing sexual urges" one but I already knew it would be about dopaminergic Parkinsonian drugs because there have been numerous articles already about these drugs for years (not just from the BBC) documenting cases of old people becoming hypersexual, gambling addicts, developing deviant behaviour etc while on them.
Drugs that turn the dopamine taps on can cause you to spiral down very quickly. If you've ever wondered why you can go to your GP leave the same day with a prescription for an SSRI (which does nothing to help depression) but if you want a drug that affects dopamine you'll be on a 14 year waiting list only for a psychiatrist to eventually tell you to fuck off, this is one of the reasons.
Drugs that release / inhibit the uptake of serotonin are safe in high doses. The biggest risk is serotonin syndrome and even with that you just lay there in a coma and your foot twitches in clonus. However with dopamine agonists, if you take more and more then you go more and more insane with the top end being extreme paranoia with hallucinations e.g full blown psychosis. With the increase in ADHD diagnoses I expect we'll see more of this in a few years time.
