You glanced at some of the robots you'd made as they cleaned scale from the boilers in the basement— those machines were proving their worth in the best of times— as you decided to finally begin smelting some aluminum.

But first — after what felt like an eternity of putting it on the backburner — you had an overpowered cheat item ready to test out.

Entering the Arcane Laboratory, you gave the now newly named Orb of Farsight one final polish, feeling the curious power overflow from it like fizzling soda.

This wasn't the first time you'd tested the Orb. It was a process that took all of last week: You'd been able to get images of places well enough, though these were often devoid of most life. It was almost like watching some sort of post-apocalyptic scene, where all the places that should be teeming with sapient and animal life were now empty, leaving biomes and buildings like ghost towns but without the ghosts. But with the help of a certain goddess, as she gave insight and assistance in a way that only the gods could, the pearl was now able to display images of people and creatures in the present time.

While you did a pretty good job with making it— being the spearhead of this Legendary Artifact and all— Herta's help was nothing to scoff at (no matter how much she would've wanted you to do just that).

Initially you could only use the Orb once a day for around ten minutes without feeling woozy out from a lack of mana. But with Herta's tinkering this was extended to an hour each day.

The only downsides were that you couldn't hear anything from the Orb other than a low droning hum, as well as there being a 'mana leak' which could give out the fact that someone was watching, but only to those most sensitive to mana. These were things that remained a mystery to both you and the goddess.

Speaking of Herta, you used your orb to look at her. She was hard at work with researching the Bad Luck skill, until she paused and began to look around— as though there was something she was trying to find.

You take a few glances at other places, not limited to your properties in Centria; the knights were building their small fortress in the plaza, and one of them seemed to be talking with a man in adventuring gear. Your castle was peaceful as always, though now it had the occasional kitsune pass by, granting the place a few check ups before leaving. As for your kitsune father in-law, you were glad to see the old fox peacefully fishing by that flying tower you'd lent to him, the ghost crystal holding Sumiko on a necklace he wore. Lastly you glanced at that wasteland you'd purchased, and found it without anything of interest. Not even animals scurried through the place— tough, much like before, an almost constant flow of airships passed over it often.

You consider looking for Thea in that island you thought she might be related to, just to check up on the big tiddy giant since this Orb was all thanks to her gift.
