Ireland state control is a lot weaker than the UK. There is a reason that pro-immigrant rhetoric eased off in this country once immigrant hostels started burning, contrasted to the UK which immediately started imprisoning all its white protesters and going full mask off. The same level of control is not possible here (yet), the state is very small.

Things will change if they bring in their planned facial recognition databases hooked up to cop bodycams, however.
