>how often her serpentine captor chats with her about it
For a gorgon, this is perfectly normal. Petrification is a way of life, or a tool you can use for a variety of things. They think no worse of it than we think of owning a pet. So mocking petrified victims and cracking jokes and musing on the fate of the frozen is no weirder than talking about the weather... for her. For her unfortunate girlfriend it's just a form of mockery before she faces the same fate. Every day she hears "Maybe you can join them, and report back!" and thinks this is finally it... before a serpentine tongue forces its way down her throat, and her captor gives her a loving kiss.

But I like to think she comes around eventually. I mean, who could pass up the opportunity for a gorgon gf? It's an unconventional relationship, but they make it work.

>Can't move, can't see, can't hear,
I like to think that they're somewhat aware of things around them, or otherwise in a trance-like state. Otherwise it's a little too tortuous. Still, it's ironic that something so violating is their biggest connection to the real world. I imagine all new victims are repulsed by it, until they spend a few days without it and are then left begging for it.

Idk I think encasement counts as petrification. There hasn't been a dedicated encasement thread for a while, anyway. I like how voyeuristic it is.
