Undertale would have felt the same way if it came out over the course of ten years and was five times as long, but with UT we got all of the breadcrumbs as soon as the game released so everything was put together quickly

but even UT had some unsolved or inexplicable fragments like Gaster, the acorn, San's picture and at least two of those are clearly set-ups for Deltarune. so I expect most things to be explained or at least addressed by the time the game finishes.
