MT is well-known even in Japan to have taken the #1 spot in Narou for a very long time during its run and era, so when people spread the word that its the "#1 in Narou", they're still saying the truth because that is what makes up MT. They're calling it for what it became known for, its something that precedes its reputation. Especially if its when Season 1 of the anime came out, and MT was a hot topic all over.
