Using scale as gimmick for a whole archetype is great, I have nothing against it, not to mention that ennea have zero recovery due lack of big scale.

Problem is that actual pend decks still get fucked by whole ruling change and usual fuckery from konami, decks have bunch of bodies that ends with nothing but extend.
