Of course the factions are strange when everybody is piss-poor and can't earn money honestly, they all compete for state/EU/Red Cross funding. If you lived here, you'd understand. The harder you work, the less you get rewarded. People used to have no stress jobs during communism and are now getting assraped by capitalism with Yuropean characteristics. Money comes and goes thanks to taxes. The survival tactic is to find work that's least damaging to your health so you stay well-fed and warm since you can't get rich. Picture life as a game of musical chairs, except there's only one chair and someone is already sitting on the sole chair. You have to wait in line for the sitter to die or retire so the next turn can start.
