I wonder if they'll ever do that since the gameplay feels set in stone to stay as it is. Making supporters be useable like the mainline games would require a thorough rework for Eternal. They'll need to add crew ship stats for pilots and rework obtaining supporters to have crew characters, then there's the gacha with different rarity supporters.
It just doesn't seem likely to happen.
