Nah I think Teach is correct, it's a Logia. The reason why his crewmates covered Whitebeard in the black tarp was so Teach wouldn't be affected by his weakness, aka light, and could turn into pure darkness and do whatever he needed to do to absorb Whitebeard's fruit. He's 100% going to get a Zoan though.
