The Jerusalem Biblical Zoo has decided to leave the Persian tiger "Aladdin" in place, which attacked the late Uriel Nouri last Friday and caused his death. Meanwhile, it was announced that the zoo will also be closed to visitors tomorrow: "It is very important for the zoo staff to be together in these difficult moments and to provide a deep response to all the needs that arise following the tragic incident and the loss of such a central figure in the zoo. Therefore, on Monday as well, in addition to the ongoing care of the animals, the team will continue to process the brief and engagement in internal processes with the assistance of psychologists."

As part of a "behind the scenes" tour, the late Uriel, who worked at the zoo, entered the tiger exhibit to feed "Aladdin." According to protocol, at this point the tiger was supplied to be closed behind a door, but it remains open. The tiger attacked the worker and critically injured him . Uriel's death was confirmed at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in the city.

The police have opened an investigation into the zoo's management and are investigating the suspicion of causing death through neglect. A similar incident occurred last year, in which a crocodile at the zoo seriously injured one of the employees.
