1. Get reforge, it's a very optimized front end with a bunch of extensions ready so you won't have to look them up.
2. Go to civitai and download any illustrious or noob based model you like. Models tab->Filters: Model type:Checkpoint, Base Model: Illustrious and NoobAI. The WAI models are generally pretty good, but try whichever one you like.
3. In the checkpoint page, the author has recommended settings like steps, samplers, etc. Copy those and the base positive and negative prompt.
4. Launch webui.bat , make sure settings are correct (setting them as default from the settings tab makes it way more convenient.
5. Download the danbooru tags extension to make sure your tags are correct, and get to genning. Try and copy prompts from random images on civitai and adjust them to what you want. Remember to stick to the SDXL standard resolutions, you can look them up. If you like a gen you can press the button that says send to img2img->resize by 2x, and set the denoising strength to under 0.5. Now you have the same gen but with more detail and bigger resolution
