Both mom and dad were extremely successful horses so there was extremely high expectations placed on King Halo. Not helped by the fact that the jockey was a child prodigy and was the son of a great jockey too. Both of them got torn to pieces for doing badly. In-game mom is just a huge autist who doesn't want her daughter to bear the burden.
