Jeremy Hunt is a British politician of the Conservative Party. Throughout his career, he’s served as the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport. He was also a Member of Parliament for Godalming and Ash South West Surrey. He has attended World Economic Forum meetings.

Jeremy Hunt’s father Sir Nicholas John Streynsham Hunt, an Admiral in the British Royal Navy. He was the Commander-in-Chief Fleet from 1985 to 1987. Jeremy’s grandfather, John Montgomerie Hunt, was a Brigadier in the of the 5th Battalion, 2nd Punjab Regiment in the Indian Army. The Hunt family were minor landed gentry from Boreatton, Baschurch, Shropshire.

Jeremy Hunt was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer on 14 October 2022.

He served as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from 9 July 2018 to 24 July 2019. He was elected Conservative MP for South West Surrey in May 2005.
