Much as I hate to admit it, this might be a plausible setup for a Lucy To The Rescue plot. In that before she always assumed that Mike would always have "his" friends and thus be alright. But now the script is flipped, they've circled the wagons around Lucy and cast him out. That throws a monkey wrench into her equation, though she can still brush off her concerns so long as Mike remains on the track team and/or with Sandy. But if Mike wholly self-isolates, well, Lucy knows what that is like.
