It's obviously had a long term effect on the current modeling systems we use of the brain (pyramidal structures, cortical feedback loops, etc) and can be attributed to the AI revolution. But all of these attempts in neuroscience and cognitive modeling have the fatal flaw of not encompassing nanoscale and smaller physics phenomenon that dominate in the domain of neurobiology. The quantum entanglement of photons and atoms in the brain are almost certainly playing a large role in consciousness and also the membrane interactions of neurochemistry itself. This fact has been recognized very recently in all fairness and the state of the art hasn't had time to really adjust to the paradigm.
