Why does maka seem to rate discarded honors over lone terminals? It doesn't really make sense to me. 9m would have added 10 tiles worth of acceptance to the hand (789m, one 7m is out), whereas hatsu only gives 2 (one hatsu is out). The chance of getting a hatsu pair before anyone discards another so that you can pon a triplet is so small that it's basically negligible. So why is it supposed to be better? I'd get it if three more were available, but one has been discarded already.
Also, I can appreciate that discarding 9p first was a mistake. I did it because of the 6-9 shape, but I should have kept it for a chance at ittsu.
