As they said themselves, they simply want to have fun doing whatever they want, even if it is shit. Trigger is my favorite Anime studio, but i won't deny their writing is ok at most.

50/50. Anime like BNA, which nobody remembers, is at the bottom of the barrel, sure. But they can still pull exciting stuff like Gridman, Cyberpunk, or comfy fun like LWA or completely bizarre like P&S and Luluco. They definitely have more fun Anime than boring ones.

Cringe is subjective, but i do 99% agree that most of their shows end in a trainwreck, even so they are still more fun than 100% of Anime originals produced nowadays.

Are they? Besides a vocal minority, Trigger works hardly if ever, and makes a bang. People have ignored lots of shows from them or forgotten. Even a supposedly hype project like P&S Season 2 is completely ignored outside /a/, and the same goes for a lot of Anime they've done. Trigger is a fun Anime studio and one that still does whatever the hell they want, even if their fans don't like it. And that's what makes them special.
