Not too long later, you and your wives were making your way to the Centrian Academy. Though it was still relatively early in the evening, the sun threaded to set down into the horizon. You were able to find a port where The Vixen's Luck could be moored. You were also able to find a place that was designed to hold those that visited the Academy for whatever purpose, letting you not have to deal with a lack of parking that some flying ferries seemingly had issue with.
Taking The Vixen's Luck to this place instead of a flying ferry seemed to be a very good choice, in hindsight.
"We're here with time to spare." Mel noted. The crowd of people waiting to go inside the lecture hall indicated truth to that statement. "See? Told ya we'd be alright."
And with that you all decided to look around until the lecture began. Ayane said she saw some kitsune she was familiar with, and requested that the others find Todred. The rest of your wives either agreed, with your permission, or went to the library. None seemed to want to waste any time as long as the trail Rostchilde set was hot. You on the other hand...
"John Doe!" A voice said. You looked around and found a familiar elf waving at you. "Hi! Nice to see you again! How are- eep!" She nearly tripped and fell as she approached you.
"Careful." You said as you caught her. "So, how are you doing, Aila?"
"Sorry about that. And I've been doing pretty well." She smiled gratefully as you helped her stand up. "Thanks to you, nobody calls me Innie anymore!"
She continued, speaking about how none bullied her anymore ever since you used your [Custom Special] on those guys trying to harass her. Apparently rumors about her having a secret bodyguard in the school spread around because of your actions.
"I mean, having a guard might not be a bad idea. Maybe I could ask my parents to send- uh, I mean, I'm not rich or some sort of princess! So I can't do things like ask for a royal guard!" She laughed worriedly at the slip-up. "Anyway, thank you again for saving me!"
"No problem."
"Are you also here to listen about the kitsune?"
"Yeah." You saw no reason to deny it.
"I love listening to these sorts of lectures." She beamed, clearly ready to gush about something, but stops herself. "And seeing you here is a big plus! Especially for such a niche topic like this one."
"I have a kitsune wife, so it might have some information that's useful to me."
"Woah! You have a kitsune slave? How were you able to manage that?" She said. Then she looked around and, in a hushed tone, asked another question. "You didn't kidnap or buy her from the black market, right?"
"Nope. It's a long story, but basically I rescued her and she fell in love with me. I'm on good terms with her family too."
"Oh. Phew. Well, I would've kept it a secret if you did. I'm good at keeping secrets, by the way." She winked conspicuously. Considering how bad of a liar she was, you doubted she'd be able to keep anything hidden.
