There's some merit to the schizo-isms. Most people eat way too much omega 6 and too little omega 3. Certain seed oils (s.o.ybean oil) have super high omega 6:3 ratio while canola oil is barely 2:1.
The fastest fix is to vastly increase your omega 3 consumption through eating fatty fish and/or supplementing fish oil.
All that said, countless studies have shown increased longevity when people switch from saturated animal fats to unsaturated fats (le PUFAs), they're just a tier below monounsaturated fat from stuff like olive oil.
