"Alex!" The startled exclamation comes from your mother behind the counter, before she rounds it and pulls you into a hug. "You're freezing!" She says, surprise turning to alarm in an instant, before she's briskly taking the others' hands in order to check their conditions, her alarm deepening by degrees, before she orders all four of you into the center's showers to warm up while she checks over Rascal, Altaria and Swanna to make sure they've not been exhausted or injured by the flight you just made.
Fortunately, Greenshoot Town is a little out of the way for most people, so not a lot of people tend to visit the town this early in the season, so you basically have unlimited hot water and before long, you and Gareth are just about boiling yourselves under the hot spray.
After so long in the air, it's pure bliss to just stand there as feeling slowly returns to your extremities.
"We got lucky."
Martha's voice snaps you out of your tired funk.
"What are you-" Gareth begins from the cubicle next to yours, as taken aback as you are.
"There's no one else here and I asked the nurse if we could stick together for the time being and talk." Martha explains.
"I'm here too." Holly calls from the other side of Martha.
"Do what did you want to talk about?" You ask.
"The fact we're lucky to have made it here before the front, for one thing." Martha replies. "I was expecting to have to find somewhere to wait the front out." She adds. "You and that Braviary of yours did real well, Alex."
"Rascal's as stubborn as they come." You say with a hint of pride, recalling how doggedly he followed you up and down Route 2 and around Lake Clarity.
Of course he wasn't going to let something like a massive storm front stop him.
"Pokemon really do take after their trainers." Martha says with a snort. "So, what's the plan now? Beyond just finding you-know-who?"
>I'm going to have a look around first and make sure she's not just sticking close.
>I know a few good places we could start looking around town.
>It's too late to start looking now, but in the morning, we'll start looking in the foothills of the Divide.
>First thing's first - I've got a Meowth to find.
