Body diversity is good, but not the kind that feminists talk about. A female cast should have women for different tastes. Shortstacks, tallflats, skinny, chubby. Smart, dumb, energetic, serene, polite, bratty, cutesy, graceful. Face that reflects feminine cuteness, face that reflects elegance and class, face that reflects tomboyish energy.

They shouldn't bother with characters that aren't going to appeal to the audience. From a customer's perspective, it's a waste of screentime at best and an extreme annoyance at worst. Nobody is excited to see more of the ape-faced woman who has the bare minimum secondary sexual characteristics to identify her as female and a girlboss personality. Even the women who demand it are doing it out of insecurity and spite.
