In Russia, you just hole yourself up in one of these 30m2 apartments and only buy cheap groceries and play counter strike all day. Easy way to make it with 3k$, many my friends (non junkies) chose such life because alternative is to work 12 hour shifts 2/2 for $550 a month or as anon pointed out above use drugs and beer to be happy
