When 2 diametrically opposing ambitions clash every word, every thought matters to create the desired outcome. Man is obsessed with exploring this dynamic and has waged war on his brother for timeless eons to reconcile the gap between understanding and outcomes.

Kermit and Picard may do battle, but neither would allow a fight on such terms. Picard fights for the continuation of his people, kermit feigns a fight for jest. If the stakes were anything lower than the entire continuity of human existence, the fight will not occur. Not many conflicts manifest in this way but all of the important ones will grapple with it at least during reconciliation.
