how do jews survive as a distinct people despite millennia of persecution and living as a diaspora without a home?

the answer is that antisemitism as a distinct and specific form of prejudice "others" jews in such a way that plays directing into jewish cultural/spiritual identity. in a society with the potential for antisemitism, a jews "jewishness" will always be a part of them no matter what, weather they like it or not. they can never truly assimilate because someone will always be around to attack them for their Jewishness. they will always be alienated and will thus be drawn, if not outright forced, into Identifying with their Jewishness, engaging with jewish culture and other jews, marrying other jews etc., and this is the reason Jews remain after all this time a distinct people despite having no homeland, and many attempts to destroy them.
