Think about it logically, why would the season finale end with Kaho threatening Renako with a rock? Is that a cliffhanger?

Pic related happens in the first chapter of Vol. 4 when Renako finds out Kaho is her childhood friend, right after they go alone to a backyard in the school and the legendary "oldest weapon in human history" speech takes place.

Why would they adapt the beggining of Kaho's arc if they aren't going to finish it in the same season?
