If every generation, an Ashkenazi bloodline passes down exclusively through the mother, assuming the fathers are consistently white gentiles, every generation will be less Jewish and more European. This must be relatively common among Jews. If this is the case, and some “Jews” are >20% Jewish, is Judaism more of a credal identity than a genetic one? At what point do they stop being Jews altogether?
