I agree that is critical as well. I think Trump's personality is more liable not to name a successor off the bat. He likes the show. The drama. The struggle. The chance for his allies to show support and his enemies to reveal themselves. Picking the winner after the people show the top 2 or 3 rise to the top just strikes me as more his style.
