i thought it was 16 or 17 in the uk. funnily you can't marry in japan until you're 18 now, i just looked up japanese marriage law, and it seems they are moving in a united states direction. as of 2022 they lowered the age of adulthood from 20 to 18, and raised the age of marriage for women from 16 to 18.
