It was truly an incredible system. Studios had perfected the art of StarMaxxing / TalentMaxxing. They were literally incentivised to invest in their own people / talent. Then they destroyed it. And, while it was a good thing to have freedom of movement for the actors. They threw the baby out with the bathwater, and all incentive to invest and develop talent was lost. Now, you either come in as an actor, or you never develop at all.
