It's true. Games inherently require a large amount of effort in order to make. You COULD make a game in under an hour, maybe, but even then you'd be riding on potentially hundreds of hours of experience coding and using the necessary software beforehand.

When a game has even the most bare necessities like music, sound effects, visual designs, animations, etc, that's a huge amount of different skills and effort put into it, collectively hundreds if not thousands of hours across everyone involved to reach a level where you could do it efficiently.

Additionally, if all games are art, then you could argue all games deserve appreciation in that regard too.
