Shion starts off like that but she at least actually tries to fix it for real even if she initially doesn't show it.
5/6 volumes in she uses a reality-warping ability to fix the taste to be great, but the texture and appearance still look disgusting.
10+ volumes in she can finally make proper tea naturally.
~20 volumes in she finally learns how to properly cook.
That's almost the whole story, but she has really done it unlike 99% of other cases of this cliché.
