The mooks at the bottom left have always mystified me, because I wonder what they imply of Orochimaru’s forces (i.e. what Kishi thought it was like at the moment) - was it still implying it was some kind of actual village? Are they just mercenaries? Does Orochimaru actually pay in money? Were they just more prisoners from those underground labs who were scrounged up for the invasion? They feel too weirdly organized given what we learn later, but they’re not really elaborated on at all, and they get SLICED to shreds by Asuma in no time at all
Also honorary shoutout to the summons, Manda might be top 5 strongest characters in Part 1 if Orochimaru (Forma de Armless) didn’t want to fuck with him
