Ukraine will receive German-funded long-range weapons by the end of July, German Major General Christian Freuding said.

In an interview with ZDFheute, he said that "Then, further deliveries will follow - in high triple-digit numbers."

The head of the Situation Center Ukraine at the German Defence Ministry is confident that new deliveries in the coming weeks will significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense and the strike capabilities of Ukrainian Defense Forces.

He also said that Germany has been negotiating with the US for several weeks to purchase one or two Patriot systems for Ukraine through the Bundeswehr-Pentagon channel. This issue was also discussed during the meeting between Chancellor Merz and President Trump.

"Our Minister of Defense will travel to Washington on Monday to discuss the details, and we hope that we'll then get the results that can quickly strengthen Ukraine's air defense," Freuding said.
