You don't fight it. The two of you travel in the same direction for just a little more, and you resolve to keep an eye on him until your paths diverge. Along the way, you see servitors continuing to interview people. You sigh in relief once you spot them camping outside unrelated hab-partitions. Seems like you haven't actually been stalked to your home, they're just going through the motions. The both of you are forced to use alleyways and rooftops, as Doc's malware-scarred face is sure to grab the attention of any patrolling robots. While you make use of f1oat, he relies on Solarmon, who pulls him along like a hang-glider. The machine Digimon is still badly hurt, but dutifully fills his role.

Finally, he pauses on a roof, staring at your apartment in the distance. The Tower stands ominously above you both, with its numerous guardians in perpetual orbit. Mekanorimon was likely up there too, at some point, and will be again.

"This is where we part ways. I won't forget what you did for me. Don't get Podded before I can pay it back now." Doc says.

You send Kokuwamon out of the Digivice, and leave his transport for Doc Cracker to deal with. Phascomon sighs with relief once the slot is cleared. The two of you have resolved his issue with the backup slot, but he's still anxious over the idea of you adopting another partner for the long run. You have no such plans to stress him out like that, or split your attention.

You give Doc one more concerned look over your shoulder before plunging off the roof and returning home.

You load yourself back into your apartment, and finally allow yourself to unwind for the day. You spent less time fighting DarkTyrannomon than you did exploring the data center, but it's been just as exhausting. Phascomon doesn't even have the energy to come out of the Digivice and sit on the sofa. He's allowing it to revitalize him bit by bit, while he lounges amidst the simulated foliage.

"What a day... We didn't even get to ask him anything in the end."

"Tell me about it. But he's safe and sound, at least. Just wish we could have deleted DarkTyrannomon."

"It's not enough."

You nod. You know full well what he means.

"Not enough strength. I got too big for my britches after just one milestone. We can't fight another enemy like that."

"I still want to know what happened to him. He's alone, right? You didn't see any humans with him?"

"No, nobody at all. And the marks on the workshop prove that he can go back and forth between stages, just like me."

It's a mystery that you have no way of unraveling unless you consult Doc. And he's no longer available for today. BlackAgumon somehow evolved into a Champion alone, in that reversible way that varies from Raremon or Kaus Gammamon. Kokuwamon showed off the same ability, but he had a Digivice in the equation to explain it.
