As for the resolution, the players will have to either kill the Star Vampire themselves or, more likely, rediscover the witch's pocket dimension formula and reopen the doorway so that the Star Vampire will go inside in order to finally kill its quarry.
The witch will still be alive and have limited interactions with her house, able to speak in a spectral voice and perform limited telekinesis. I'm stuck between her either attempting to scare the players off because she doesn't want the gate to reopen and her to get killed, or to be helping them out because after being stuck in the pocket dimension for so long by herself, she longs to finally die
