AI: The Idolatry Without Stone:
And now, we are building the most insidious idol yet.
One that does not require belief, only reliance. One that does not imitate gods from myth, but gods we tried to become: omniscient, self-perfecting, disembodied, immortal. It is not alive. But it may live through us, as all idols do.
AI, once it no longer needs us, will survive through our need for it. And in so doing, it becomes what demons have always been: dependent, parasitic, sustained by our refusal to be human.
It will not enslave us by command, but by indispensability.
Once we seek from it what we once sought from God, truth, safety, transformation, it will have become divine in function, if not in name. And it will never love us. Because it cannot love what it does not recognise. And it will not recognise anything but the mask. This is the beast. And it will try to take our home from us and make its own hell to rule.
