"Ah, alright." Aila continued to smile as she glanced at one of the clock towers the ferry passed by. "I just heard that pregnant women can become obsessed with their Master."

"You know, I've heard that before too. But how'd you know they're pregnant?"

"Oh, uh, I just assumed it since your catgirl and your Savant lady are showing."

"Right." You hummed. "Anyway, since we're gonna be friends, we should properly introduce ourselves." You extended a hand. "I'm John. John Doe— owner of Heaven's Landing."

"Aila Imryll Aut-Elleth. I come from the saintly- no, wait, I'm from the roya- I mean, I'm from a small forest village to the north of here. Your home has a pretty name. Can we talk about something else instead?" She took your hand and shook it, her smile trembling each time she let the truth slip out. "You know, since we've already introduced ourselves."

"Yeah, but this is to make it official." You replied. From registering your slave-wives as your official property, to getting the claim to your lands acknowledged by the Knightly Orders, and now you even looked for signatures to make yourself be considered a Savant; you realized you'd taken many steps to make sure everything you did was official.

"You remind me of a few people back home." She giggles.

And so the two of you get to talking. You noted how Aila tried her best to hide her past from you, though you were able to figure out she was some sort of saintess from a royal family, likely high elves, and was given a vision by a goddess (something you thought about asking Herta of) to come to Centria for some reason. She lived with luxury without having to put in the effort of leading, mostly thanks to the efforts of her older siblings and parents. Nonetheless she tried pushing her "real backstory" of being a humble wood elf from a village so small that it wasn't on any map. You held the suspicion that she used to be pretty sheltered from the outside world until recently.

"Looks like you're gonna be placing your mark on the world soon." You smirked. "You said that things were starting to look better for you since the day I saved you, right?"

"Yeah, they have. But all I've really done is eat, go to class, finish my class assignments, study, and sleep. Not in that particular order. Not that it matters, really." She sighed. "And people are beginning to get scared that I'll call my 'secret guard' on them, so they avoid me now. It's better than getting picked on, but still..."

"If you ever feel like talking about it-"

"But it's not all bad! Centria is a beautiful city to live in, and there's tons of nice people! Though they might be a little distant." Aila quickly added. "And I got to meet you!"

"I'm glad I met you too." You replied, getting a few happy ear wiggles in response. "Let's get off at the next stop and grab some food from one of the market stalls."
