What do you guys think of Jewish mythology?
I think it's all bullshit, but you invariably run into it when researching different spirits / the occult. I think Lilith clearly is not Adam's first wife or whatever. But when you read about the 4 queens there is usually some Jewish fanfiction for their origin story.
Like what is Agrats origin story? How could Jewish sages know that she is the daughter of mahlat, or possibly used to be a human. Why did they make up stories about lilith and agrat seducing king David to make powerful offspring? Plus they have some fanfic about some rabbi curbing her power.
Scholars agree that the zohar wasn't written until the 13th century. Though it claims to have been written by some rabbi in the 2nd century.
My point is that it's clearly fanfiction, but if it's fanfiction why is the kaballah so foundational. Why does it work as a good model for the universe. And why are these spirits real, how are they real where did they come from? Did the jews make them up or did they discover them, then make up origin stories? Is this what these spirits told them?
What if it's all chaos magic, that would be so lame. What if we invent entities and they aren't independently real the way I'd like them to be?
