It was made of some golden material, with hollow slots for each and every one of her snakes. If it weren’t for their occasional hissing, and the glowing of their eyes, you might’ve thought that they were all just a part of the helmet's design. Where they normally wriggled and writhed, they all sat perfectly still while Delphyne raced towards danger.
“Heads up, gang.” she called out, retrieving an ornate bow from her back.
There were still some zombies occupying these rooftops, and a few of them turned your way. None of you slowed down.
“We see them.” Carnelian confirmed.
“Yes, we're not blind.” Ward said with a slight sneer.
The snooty Nosferatu hadn't changed much either. He still wore impractical clothing that was far too fancy for battle, knowing full well that it would be ruined before the day ended.
“I swear to god, Ward!” she snapped.
“Which one in particular?” he asked, a wolfish grin appearing on his face in anticipation of the violence to come.
“ALL OF THEM!”
“You can swear to mine, Del.” you offered, preparing to draw the silver sword that Louise traded you. “I'm sure he wouldn't mind.”
“You blaspheme so casually, my child.” Mercy whispered. “Do try to avoid making it a habit.”
Delphyne's demeanor changed in an instant as she switched her attention over to you.
“Aww! Thanks, girlfriend! At least someone's nice to talk to around here.” she said, giving Ward a pointed glare.
“Children, save your squabbling for later.” Young demanded, her eyes staring straight ahead. “They are nearly upon us.”
Delphyne scoffed.
“Okay, yeah. But, like…”
Ward dashed forward, ahead of the group, an assortment of bone spikes and blades sprouting from his flesh. He delivered a crushing lariat to the zombies in front, crushing their skulls and impaling the others.
Delphyne raised her bow, removed several arrows from her quiver, and loosed them in quick succession. Each and every one struck their targets at critical points, a single headshot being all that was needed to finish off the average zombie.
Carnelian raced ahead with a burst of speed that you didn’t think a man of his size was capable of! He sped past Ward, swinging his flail so fast that its spiked heads were starting to blur together in your vision. When next his arm moved, you watched an entire row of zombies disappear into a blood mist, their bodies spattering onto the side of a nearby building. Carn didn't slow down, however. Instead, he kept moving–kept swinging at anything and everything that got in his way.
Ward was careful not to be in the way of those flails and you could understand why. You've never seen a Were this powerful before!
“Keep your eyes peeled, Cindy.” Young warned, striking out at the nearby zombies with red glowing fists.
